Highclere Thoroughbred Racing enjoyed a spectacular 2010 Royal Ascot with three winners, a second and a third – all five of which were purchased at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale – and it was the two year old APPROVE who started the ball rolling with his win in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes. The William Haggas trained colt was dropping back in trip after running a creditable fourth on Derby Day in the 6 furlong Listed Woodcote Stakes and readily accounted for a high class field including subsequent Group 3 Molecomb Stakes winner ZEBEDEE.
The son of OASIS DREAM was consigned to last year’s October Book 1 from the Grassick family’s Newtown Stud and was purchased privately by John Warren having originally been bought in for 65,000 guineas. Out of the SADLER’S WELLS mare WYOLA, the March foaled colt is from the direct family of Classic winner and Group 1 winning two year old CULTURE VULTURE as well as the Champion/Group 1 winning milers ZILZAL, POLISH PRECEDENT and INTIKHAB.
APPROVE holds an entry in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes as well as the eight race £1,750,000 Tattersalls Millions.
