The Julie Wood owned Tattersalls October Book 1 purchase ZEBEDEE stamped himself as one of the fastest two year olds in Europe with a cosy success in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Given a supremely confident ride by jockey Richard Hughes, the Richard Hannon trained son of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT atoned for his defeat in the Group 2 Norfolk behind another October 1 purchase APPROVE to record his fourth win from five starts to date.
Out of the winning Listed placed mare COZY MARIA from the family of Champion racemare MISS ALLEGED, ZEBEDEE was purchased on behalf of Julie Wood by Peter Doyle for 70,000 guineas. He was consigned to Book 1 of last year’s October 1 by Hascombe Stud.
Although yet to be tried over further than 5 furlongs, ZEBEDEE holds entries in the £1,750,000 Tattersalls Millions and looks to be a leading contender for the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Auction Stakes, the first of the eight race series which takes place Friday 28th August at Newmarket’s July Course over 6 furlongs.
