Today’s £150,000 Tattersalls Millions 3YO Sprint, race six of the 2011/12 Tattersalls Millions Race Series was won by VALBCHEK, trained by Jeremy Noseda and owned by Paul Smith and Richard Keen.
The Acclamation colt, who was bought at the 2010 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 for 110,000gns by Jamie McCalmont, had only raced once previously, at Lingfield last month, when he was backed heavily and won nicely for connections. Jeremy Noseda said afterwards, “The horse missed his 2yo career, so I wanted to run him at Lingfield over six furlongs as a prep race for this race, so it’s nice when a plan comes to fruition. That was a good performance for an inexperienced horse. I would expect plenty of progress from him and so will probably step up in class next. His is a nice big horse who could possibly turn into a Group 2 Jersey Stakes horse, stepping up in trip but we will get him home and take it from there.”
Valbchek held off a late challenge from David Elsworth’s SWISS SPIRIT who finished ahead of TIDENTIME, for Mick Channon and SOLAR DEITY for Marco Botti.
The next race in the series is the Tattersalls Millions 3YO Auction Trophy, which takes place at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile, for which 14 Tattersalls Graduates have been declared.
